Scripture: Phillippians 1: 21-27
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.
Life Worthy of the Gospel
27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
Call To Worship:
P: Day by day, moment by moment, we learn to walk in His holiness, innocent and free before God
C: Day by day, moment by moment, our character changes as the character of Christ is developing in us.
P: Day by day, moment by moment, “we are being transformed into His likeness…” (2 Cor. 3: 18)
All: Day by day moment by moment we are becoming what we already are – ” holy and pleasing to God. “
Prayer of Confession: Eternal God, we rest in you and find peace. Even at this moment, we face testings: we are tempted to forget the best we know, to take shortcuts to happiness, to allow those who are blind to their own needs. Because you are with us, we do not need to be afraid of our own sinful nature. Bring us ever closer to you and to those who love and serve and praise you. Amen.
