Messenger – April 2024

Pastor’s Corner

Hello spring! I love this time of year. Spring brings our flowers to life, and we get to enjoy so many things we love to do. I enjoy hunting turkeys, and hearing them gobble makes my heart pound with excitement.

Calling the gobblers in is such a rush for me,and I get to share my love for the sport with those who enjoy the same.

Thinking and anticipating all that spring brings also reminds me of all the work that comes with the things I love. We as a church have so much to be excited about as well and with that excitement comes the work of finding a new pastor.

Our session has been hard at work developing new by-laws and policy. A search team is also in place, and the search has begun. All of you reading this are asked to give your thoughts to the session members as they consider candidates who

may be interested.

The call, the vision, and how to best carry out the great commission must be at forefront of all that our church does now and in the future. We must not settle for mediocrity or a return for how things used to be.  Moving forward with new

ideas to reach those who have not yet entered our doors can be very exciting. A new pastor will need your full support, as more changes will come with new leadership. I will continue to encourage all of you as we join in our prayers and love for

one another.

In the love of the Lord Jesus,

Pastor Al

If you are ignorant of God’s Word, you will always be ignorant of God’s will.”     —Billy Graham

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.    -Ephesians 4:32

“God proved his love on the cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you.’” —Billy Graham

God’s Wish

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.     -Anne Frank
