TheMessenger – October 2014

From the Pastor’s Desk

Dear Church Family,

God surely has blessed me in giving me the opportunity to serve with you in partnership to spread the gospel.

So where do we begin? In my morning devotions I was reading in Psalms 46:10 where It says “Be still and know that I am God”. This really touched my heart for I have been

struggling with knowing where to start, what direction to lead, and what purpose or mission does God want us to accomplish. So I decided to Be still and know that He is God. To take one step at a time and see where he leads.

Like standing in the woods in autumn we really don’t see the beauty of the forest or if we stand to close to any great masterpiece we miss much of its beauty. Close proximity

to any great historical events make it impossible to appraise them. Two men died at the age of 33. Alexander having conquered the world, and Jesus Christ

having been crucified on the cross. Long range vision will enable us to see that the cross would out last the throne. History teaches us that dictators, conquerors, oppressors

never have the final words that belong to God. So our chief concern must be to remain in harmony with the will and purpose of God.

Our mission then is to spread the gospel and live our lives to His glory.

This fall take the long look, see the beauty that surround us and “Be still and know that He is God”.

In His Service,
Pastor Joe
