FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK…..
Dear Church Family,
Romans 8: 19— Creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
April’s finally here, what seemed to be the coldest winter in my memory. How fitting it is that Easter is the first Sunday of the month, and reminds us of what is yet to come. “April showers brings May flowers”. We’ve all heard this expression and it brings to mind Roman’s 8: 19 Creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
Good Friday and Easter Sunday have earned names on the calendar. Yet in a real sense we live on Saturday, the day with no name. What the disciples experienced in a small scale- three days in grief over one man who died on a cross. We now live through on a grand scale.
Human history grinds on between the time of promise and fulfillment. Can we trust that God can make something beautiful and good out of a world that includes ISIS, Iran, scandals, poverty, and whatever tragic situation we hear on the news. Its Saturday on planet earth. Will Sunday ever come?
Can we, like Paul, develop an attitude of hope, of “eager expectation?” Can we state as he did in Romans 8: 18. “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory to be revealed in us.”
It’s SATURDAY, is God being revealed in us? Are we in eager expectation of Christ return?
SON DAY IS COMING!
In His Service,
Pastor Joe and Bonne

Do you read the Presbyterian Today Magazine? Do you want it in the future? If you answer yes to these questions please get your name on the list that is hanging in the vestibule of the church.
Several months ago session decided not to renew the subscriptions to this magazine as they come up for renewal this year. This decision came about because many people told session they do not read the magazine and no longer wanted it. Some subscriptions may have already expired but the majority expire in June. Instead session will order a set number of magazines and put them in the vestibule of the church for people to take home as we currently do with the Upper Room. How many should be ordered when this starts in July will be based on the number of people that request the magazine. If you do read and like this magazine please sign the sheet in the vestibule. Thank you from Session.
