FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK…..
Dear Church Family,
On June 28th 1894, Labor Day was enacted according to the government website. Labor Day the 1st Monday in September is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.
It’s a yearly tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and wellbeing of our country! In other words it’s a time to remember and acknowledge all those who labor to fulfill a vision to a higher goal.
In Acts 26:19 Paul tells King Agrippa “I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven”. All life is conditioned by vision and the labor that follows. Life depends on how we see things and what we do with that vision. It’s the difference between the stonemason and the sculptor, the carpenter and the architect, the house painter and the artist. In Joel 2:28 it’s written “your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”
Life is constructed along these lines of vision. The vision of the mind is knowledge. The vision of the conscience is duty. The vision of the heart is love. The vision of the soul is faith. These are the four cornerstones of character, career, and consecration. Life is consecrated only in obedience to a higher vision; we are only set apart by our labors to that higher vision.
Paul’s explanation of his life is the secret of every great life-to find Gods will and to do it.
God has given to all who believe that “Vision From Heaven.” Will there be a celebration of our labors on that day when we meet our Savior face to face?
My prayer this Labor Day is that we will all labor for that “Vision >From Heaven”, so that no one is left behind when He returns.
In His Service,
Pastor Joe and Bonne
