Worship Service – July 4, 2021

Guest Pastor: Rev. Dr. Al Hickok

July 4th, 2021                   6th Sunday of Ordinary Times

Prayer of Confession:     Gracious God, our Wonderful Counselor, the Almighty God, We come to you to confess.  We know that sometimes we are happily distracted by parties and twinkling lights, and sometimes we are happily curled up in the solitude and warmth of our homes.  In our distraction, we turn a blind eye to suffering and need and grief.  Forgive us, and more than that, turn us around to see all your children, with the truth of their lives, that we would set aside our distractions and answer your call to go out, to heal, to help, to proclaim good news and joy. Through Christ we pray.  Amen.

Scripture:  John 8: 31-38

Sermon:  “How Free Are We”

Listen to Audio: July4

*Offering Prayer:   Gracious God, Jesus finished the work that you gave Him to do, But the work of building Your Kingdom continues.  Use us and our gifts in that work, So that Your kingdom may grow, And more people may come to know Jesus for themselves.   Amen.

*Shalom to you now, Shalom, my friends.

May God’s full mercies bless you, my friends.

In all your living and through your loving,

Christ be your Shalom, Christ be your Shalom.
