Fathers in the Bible
God the Father is at the top of the list. He is the creator of everything and without Him the world would not have ever been. God is our heavenly father and for those who have asked Jesus to come into our hearts, we will one day live forever in Heaven with Him. He is the alpha and omega – the beginning and the end.
Noah: Without Noah, human and animal life on this planet would have been no more. Because Noah obeyed our Heavenly Father, life on the earth began to repopulate. Noah was also the earthly father of Ham, Shem, and Japeth. In the first book of the bible Genesis chapter 6 verse 8, the bible tells us that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Jacob:Why? He was the father in the bible that had 12 sons who God appointed as the twelve tribes of Israel. You may remember that Jacob was a twin to Esau and as they grew into manhood, Jacob tricked his brother out of this birthright and then, out of his father Isaac’s blessing. Children will remember this father as being the fatheer who gave his son Joseph the coat of many colors.
Joseph, Jesus’ earthly father, makes our list at number 4. Joseph was not Jesus’ biological father, but he raised Jesus as his own teaching him how to be a carpenter. He trusted God when he could have turned his back on Mary and married another. We don’t know much about Joseph except for the few times he is mentioned in the bible, but we can be certain he was a special father or God would have chosen another man to be Mary’s husband.
Adam. Adam was not only the first man on the earth, but he was the first father too. If Father’s Day was around in the beginning, he would have been the first father to celebrate with his children. He was the father of many with Cain and Abel being his first two sons.
